Steve Blank will talk about how
World War II set the stage for the creation and explosive growth of
Silicon Valley, and the role of
Frederick Terman and Stanford in working with government agencies
(including the CIA and the
National Security Agency) to set up companies in this area that
sparked the creation of hundreds
of other enterprises.

Steve Blank spent nearly 30 years as founder and executive of high
tech companies in Silicon Valley,
most recently the enterprise software firm E.piphany. He has been
involved in or co-founded eight
Silicon Valley startups, ranging from semiconductors to video games,
and personal computers to
supercomputers. He teaches entrepreneurship at U.C. Berkeley's Haas
School of Business,
Columbia University and Stanford's Graduate School of Engineering.

Descripción:Rare Original Vintage Performance. Sorry about the sound. This was from a promotional Reel to Reel BETA tape I found in a television station I worked at in the mid 1990's. It was only marked "For Local Affiliates - From your Friends at the Club Vegas" - My assumption is that these promotional videos were made by a music production facility to promote the artists on locally-produced music shows. I really have no idea as to the true origin or specific year!

Descripción:According to personal biography of his life John Hurt learn to love and appreciate music and guitar playing from William H Carson, a man infatuated with his teacher at the St. James School, located in Avalon, Mississippi. John Hurt stated, " I wasn't allowed to bother Mr. Carson's guitar. I would wait until he feel asleep at my house, then I would slip his guitar into my room and try to play. There I learned to play the guitar at the age of nine years old. After that, my mother bought me a second hand guitar at the price of $1.50! 1 can tell you there was no beautiful sound than my own guitar music. I was playing for country dances at the same time working very hard on a farm new Avalon Mississippi."
