In future videos, we'll talk about why Google keeps logs, what information we record when you're signed into a Google account and steps you can take to increase your privacy when surfing online. Descripción:In the third video in a series of short, informative videos on privacy, Google explains what cookies do and how they can help web sites and advertisers personalize our online experiences. Cookies are small pieces of data that save information when you visit websites so you don't have to re-enter it every time you return. For example, cookies help search engines remember that you want your search results in English and help online stores remember the items saved in your virtual shopping cart. Advertisers can also use cookies to deliver ads that are more relevant to you. You can always decide which cookies to accept - or whether to accept cookies at all - by going into your browser's privacy settings.

We tell our kids how dangerous it is to put personal info out there; does it apply to adults? My name, phone number and home address is out there for the world to see. What is safe to put out there? Descripción:In the second in a series of short, informative videos on privacy, Google offers a closer look at personalization and the privacy tools that are available when you choose to personalize your search. As the video explains, search algorithms that are designed to take your personal preferences into account, including the things you search for and the sites you visit, have better odds of delivering useful results for you. So if you've been checking out sites about the Louvre and you search for "Paris," you're more likely to get results about the French capital than the celebrity heiress. The privacy tools we've designed--such as "pause" and "remove" buttons — help put you in control of personalization.
Descripción:Google TechTalks July 28, 2006 Matthew Roughan joined the School of Applied Mathematics at the University of Adelaide in February 2004, where he is interested in the area of design, and installation of Internet measurement equipment, and the analysis and modeling of Internet measurement data. ABSTRACT The rapid growth of the Internet over the last decade has been startling. However, efforts to track its growth have often fallen afoul of bad data --- for instance, how much traffic does the Internet now carry? The problem is not that the data is technically hard to obtain, or that it does not exist, but rather that the data is not shared. Obtaining an overall picture requires data from multiple...

Descripción:We have no way of knowing which click will lead us to a video w/ copyrighted material. Viacom has exclusive rights to it's copyrighted material unless the company grants another entity the right to use the material. Viacom has the right to know who has been fraudulently using their material. Viacom has the right to hold responsible the business who hosts and distributes their material. The average YT user, however, has no way of knowing from a thumbnail if a video will have copyrighted material in it. So, the average YT user shouldn't be held responsible for not being Miss Cleo. Her/His privacy should not be invaded. Anyone who steps out of line, can instantly be 'discredited' for clicking on a video of 'questionable' taste. Gimme 3 minutes of your time. VIACOM is pursuing Google, the owner of YouTube, for copyright issues. Judge Louis Lee Stanton has ruled that Google must turn over our YouTube member IDs along with the corresponding videos watched as well as our computers' IP addresses to Viacom. Copyright issues should concern those who've abused the copyright laws, not those who unknowingly watched the loaded clips. Surely Viacom knows this. This is a blatant invasion of privacy. Instead of whining about what corporations are doing, punish them. Boycott media. Try not spending anything for a couple of days. The following is a list of what Viacom owns.
